Welcome to TutoraX. These Terms and Conditions govern your use of the TutoraX platform and of the services offered through it. By creating an account, accessing the platform, or making any payment, you agree to these terms. Please read them carefully before using the platform or completing any transaction.
About the Platform
TutoraX is an online platform that helps tuition academies in Sri Lanka manage classes, schedules, learning materials, recordings, student payments and special events, and helps students join academies and access learning content. TutoraX connects its users; the actual teaching, course materials and content remain the responsibility of the respective academy.
Use of the Platform
- You must be at least 18 years old, or a minor with the consent of a parent or legal guardian, to use the platform.
- You are responsible for keeping your login credentials (username/email and password) confidential, and for all activity under your account.
- You agree to provide accurate and current information during registration, joining and checkout.
- You may not use the platform for any unlawful or unauthorised purpose, including attempts to bypass platform security.
- You may not share, copy, download, resell or redistribute class recordings, materials or content without written permission.
- Academy owners and staff may only access the student data of students enrolled in their own academy, and only for legitimate operational purposes.
Accounts, Plans and Pricing
- Academies subscribe to a paid plan to run their operations on TutoraX. Plan features, durations and prices (in LKR) are shown on the pricing page and are subject to change from time to time.
- Plan prices are exclusive of any applicable taxes unless stated otherwise.
- Promotions and discounts are valid for the time stated and may be subject to additional conditions.
- TutoraX may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms or are used fraudulently.
Orders and Payments
- When an academy selects a plan, a payment order is created. After payment is completed, the plan becomes active.
- We reserve the right to refuse or cancel any payment or subscription for any reason, including pricing errors, suspected fraud or non-payment of prior fees.
- You authorise us (through our payment gateway, PayHere) to charge the total amount due to your chosen payment method.
- Payment card or bank details are handled securely by PayHere and participating banks. TutoraX does not store your full card or bank details.
- Class fees and event fees may be paid directly to an academy and settled through payment slips; such payments are between you and the academy and are governed by the academy's own terms.
Students Joining an Academy
- Joining an academy is subject to the academy's acceptance and its own rules.
- An academy may add or remove students from its classes in line with its enrolment process.
- Academies are responsible for the accuracy of class schedules, fees, and the quality of the teaching and content they provide.
Special Events
- Students may register for special events hosted by academies, with payment where a fee applies.
- Registration generates an entry QR code. Use of the ticket is subject to the academy's entry conditions.
- Refunds and cancellations for events are governed by the Refund Policy.
Intellectual Property
- All content on the platform — software, text, graphics, logos and design — is owned by TutoraX or its licensors and is protected by intellectual property law.
- Class recordings and materials uploaded by academies are owned by (or licensed to) that academy and may only be used within the platform.
- You may not use, reproduce, distribute or modify platform or academy content without prior written consent.
Limitation of Liability
- To the maximum extent permitted by law, TutoraX, its directors, employees and affiliates are not liable for any indirect, incidental, special or consequential damages arising from your use of the platform.
- TutoraX provides its services "as is" and makes no express or implied warranties regarding availability, accuracy or suitability for a particular purpose, although we work hard to keep the platform reliable.
- Teaching quality, schedules and content are the responsibility of the academies, not TutoraX.
Amendments and Termination
We may update, modify or suspend these Terms and these services from time to time. Updated terms will be posted on this page. It is your responsibility to review them periodically. Continuing to use the platform after changes means you accept the updated terms.
Governing Law
These Terms and Conditions are governed by the laws of the Democratic Socialist Republic of Sri Lanka, and any disputes will be subject to the jurisdiction of the Sri Lankan courts.
